Aside from Halloween, what do we celebrate every October? You guessed it right! Oktoberfest! It’s not only the ghosts, witches, and zombies that come out to play during Halloween. Brewers, beer enthusiasts, and festivalgoers are also out and about to have some fun! This October 17, join Ridge Meadows Hospice Society as they hold their own Oktoberfest 2025 at the Albion Community Centre. Fill your tummies with warm sauerbraten, schnitzel, and bratwurst, alongside bread, cheese, and potatoes. Quench your thirst with delicious beer and wine as you dance along to the fun and catchy music of the Oktoberators. Funds raised will go to Ridge Meadows Hospice Society whose mission is to provide “compassionate support and programs for individuals and families experiencing death, dying, grief and loss.”
When: Friday, 17 October 2025 from 6:00 PM (PDT) to 11:30 PM (PDT)
Where: Albion Community Centre 24165 104th Avenue, Maple Ridge, BC V2W 1J2Your ticket includes a full traditional German dinner, along with delicious vegetarian options, live music and dancing with the Oktoberators. This year there will be Silent and Live Auctions, 50/50 Draw, and a few new surprises. We are so happy to hold the event once again at Albion Community Hall for a night of FUN and fundraising for our programs!
Did you know that the first Oktoberfest happened in Munich on October 12, 1810? It was to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. This October 17, while there will be no marriage to be celebrated at the Albion Community Centre, there will still be a celebration of love and compassion.
