• Today is the all day at Pier A park.
The opening ceremony started at 11 a.m. and will run ’till the closing ceremony at 9 p.m. Teams have assembled, raising money for the American Cancer Society, and will participate in relays around the park all day. There will also be lots of fun stuff for Hobokenites and locals to enjoy, such as a Mr. Relay Pageant at 12:45 p.m. (for all you ladies out there), a water balloon toss at 2 p.m., super twister at 4:30 p.m., and a list of bands that will play throughout the day to keep everyone rockin’. One in particular may hit close to home for some of you native New Jerseyians — Slippery When Wet, a Bon Jovi tribute cover band will perform at 5 p.m. Come out and show your support! This is a great way to remember, support, and fight back against cancer while having fun right here in our community.
• Hoboken is feeling very giving today — another charity event will be held at . They will host “Open Bar for Breast Cancer” and is $40 at the door for an open bar that will last all night long. “Roc with the Broc” while cover-band Screaming Broccoli plays their renditions of classic rock songs from artists like Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, and The Steve Miller Band.
