The Oxfam Challenge supported by Intrepid, Lonely Planet and Urban Artistry Photography is a trek, or two, for all those nomadic travelers out there.
The Oxfam Challenge gives you the opportunity to adventure through some of the most fascinating places on earth andall for a good cause.
As part of the trip you can witness first-hand how Oxfam Australia and their partners work with communities to create long-term solutions to poverty, which is something that usually only missionaries and celebrities get to see.
Oxfam will organise the trip to either China or Vietnam-Cambodia and also provide travelers with international flights, accommodation, transfers and ground transport, most meals, a bike, an Intrepid Travel tour leader, local guides and support vehicles, an Oxfam cycling jersey and a Lonely Planet guide to the destination.
Trekkers will have to come up with the $350 registration fee and fundraise $5 000, which isn’t actually that hard to do.
Alternatively if you’re not an avid traveler, but you want other people to go, and live vicariously through them, you can always sponsor a challenger.
The Oxfam Challenge China Yunnan trip departs September 16, returning September 29 and the Vietnam-Cambodia trip is set for November 30up untilDecember 13.
