Sir Paul McCartney has penned a letter to the prime minister of India, in an appeal to have an annual meat free day.
The performer and activist has asked that this year India declare 12 January a meat free day for the country.
McCartney asserts that giving up meat for just one day would deliver benefits for both the environment and for the people.
Paul McCartney began his vegetarian appeal with the Meat Free Mondays campaign, a success in Europe.
