Ricky Ponting was in Sydney last night, with his wife Rianna, to launch a new charity, the Ponting Foundation.
The Aussie cricket captain held a small reception, similar to the one last week in Melbourne, and reportedly told 40 odd guests that merely donating signed memorabilia for charity auction was not enough.
After the couple’s visit to a children’s cancer hospital some years ago, Ponting has pushed himself to make a larger, ongoing contribution to charity.
Ricky Ponting’s charity Foundation will help support the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia and Redkite.
