Price leads Champions Tour event

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa–Nick Price shot a 4-under 67 to take a one-stroke lead entering the final round of the Principal Charity Classic on
Saturday. Price led this event by one shot entering last year’s final round, only to finish third. Joey Sindelar and Mark Wiebe both had a chance to join Price atop the leaderboard, but they three-putted the 18th hole. They both are shot back at 6-under 136 total. Fred Funk shot a 69 and is at 5-under along with Mark McNulty. Six players are four back, including Mike Reid, who shot the day’s best round at 66. NCAA TOLEDO, Ohio–Texas A&M’s Bronson Burgoon hit a gap wedge from the rough to within 3 inches of the 18th hole Saturday to win his match and clinch the first NCAA Division I men’s golf title for the Aggies. Burgoon, a senior and the team’s No. 1 player, had lost the previous four holes to Arkansas’ Andrew Landry before hitting from the deep rough far to the right of the 18th fairway.
John Hurley and Andrea Pavan won their matches for the Aggies, who were never better than fourth at the national tournament.
