Puttin’ On The Glitz is celebrating its first anniversary with a luau party to benefit the Victory Center on May 29 and 30, complete
with island decor and music, tropical refreshments, games, special sales and more, according to a news release. Owned and operated by Joanne Heuss and her daughter Kelly (a Toledo Free Press employee), the Perrysburg boutique opened June 1, 2008 in its original location at 122 W. South Boundary in Perrysburg with the goal of providing bridal accessories at budget-friendly prices. As members of Chicks for Charity (a local organization with over 1,200 members that adopts and raises funds and awareness for a local non-profit agency for 2 years, before picking a new charity), Puttin’ On The Glitz will donate to the Victory Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to cancer patients that support and comfort their minds, bodies, and souls during their treatment period. A special after-hours Chicks for Charity event is scheduled for May 29 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.. Everyone is invited to attend. The party will feature island decor and music, tropical appetizers, wine and cocktails, and Hawaiian face and body art by Air-O-Dynamic Design and Production. There will be a raffle for a Puttin’ On The Glitz gift basket worth over $200. The cost is $5 at the door. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. Proceeds from the raffle, admission, and 10 percent of sales will be donated to the Victory Center.
