long dreamt of creating a tranquil garden for sick children and their families. Thanks to local Rotary clubs, the dream is off and racing. This year’s Rotary Charity Race Day, on September 13, will be raising funds to create the garden adjacent to the children’s ward at the hospital. A launch night for the event was held at the Centenary Lakes Function Centre on Thursday, with special guests Caroline Weaver, the executive director of Caboolture Hospital, and Aboriginal jockey Lyall Appo. Ms Weaver said the garden would be an enclosed space off the current playground. The day is a joint initiative of the Rotary clubs of Caboolture, Bribie Island and Maroochydore. The Rotary Charity Race Day will be held at Corbould Park, Caloundra, on September 13. A Brunch, Bus and Track Super Pass is available for $25 each from Caboolture Sports Club, which includes a champagne brunch at Caboolture Sports Club from 10am, return bus fare from the club and entry to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club.
