The discount event, which happens in the spring and fall each year, is a win-win: It benefits shoppers as well as local charities, schools and nonprofit organizations. You can get tickets from more than 50 participating local charities, which will keep the proceeds for their organizations, or stop by Belk to buy them starting Friday. Participating charities and schools will divide the proceeds from in-store ticket sales. Also at the sale, register to win one of three $1,000 Belk shopping sprees. In addition, all of the participating charities have a chance to win one of three $1,000 donations. Beginning Sunday, if you see something in the store that you know you want, Belk will hold it for you until the day of the sale, said Lee Danley, vice president and regional store manager, who is based at the location.
