SA Rocker At Mick Gatto Bushfire Fundraiser 2009: It Controversial

SA rocker at Mick Gatto bushfire fundraiser

IT was so controversial that even the AFL’s most controversial player, Ben Cousins, was reportedly advised not to attend.
But local rocker Dave Gleeson was there for all the action when Melbourne underworld figure Mick Gatto threw a $1000-a-head bushfire charity dinner on Thursday night. Dave and his band The Screaming Jets played at the event, which attracted guests including Underbelly star Vince Colosimo and comedian Nick Giannopoulos. While seats were set aside for Cousins and Eddie McGuire, they didn’t show, possibly due to the controversy surrounding Gatto. “I was hanging out with some colourful identities,” Dave said of the event, which attracted 1000 guests. “Apparently they wanted Barnesy but he wasn’t available. We had wanted to be involved in one of the big events but weren’t able to, so this was great.” “I met Mick Gatto and he thanked us for being involved.”
