You’ve seen Santa on a sleigh, but have you ever seen him on a kayak? This November 29, dress up like Santa, or one of his elves, and join Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s first ever Santa Paddle. Happening at the Liverpool Watersports Centre, you’ll be paddling your kayak, along with other warm-hearted folks in their festive outfits, to bring holiday cheer to people along the Liverpool waterfront, M&S Bank Arena and Albert Dock. Aside from the kayak parade, there will also be a best dressed kayak competition so make sure to bring lots of festive décor to dress up your kayak with! Funds raised will go to Alder Hey Children’s Charity who aims to support a healthier future for children and young people.

When: Saturday 29^th November

Gather your friends and family in groups of two, six or individuals and head on down to Liverpool Watersports Centre, where we will be holding a 2.5km kayak parade through the iconic Liverpool waterfront, past must see sights such as the M&S Bank Arena, Albert Dock and even the Liver Building dressed in Christmas lights and decorations.

Make sure to get involved by bringing all the lights and decorations you need and dressing your kayak to be in with a chance of winning the best dressed kayak competition!

You will be given a time slot between 10am-3pm on the day of the event to come down and decorate your boat. During this time you will also receive your safety brief. Please note that attending your given time slot is required to your taking part in the event. Return at 5pm to get ready to get into your boat! Refreshments available at centre.

Did you know that kayaks have been used for at least 4,000 years already? It was mainly used for transport before and have only recently been used in recreational activities.
