Scarlett Johansson recently returned from a trip to Rwanda where she visited RED-funded projects.
The actress, soon to be seen in Frank Miller’s The Spirit with Eva Mendes and Samuel L. Jackson, spent four days visiting AIDS clinics and programs in Africa.
This isn’t Scarlett’s first trip to poverty and health devastated nations, she spent time in India and Sri Lanka with Oxfam International.
‘Its not until youve had the privilege of meeting healthcare providers who are fighting the daily battle, heard from people who are now getting antiretroviral drugs to stay alive, and met mothers whose babies are born healthy because they received treatment that stopped transmission of HIV, that you understand that we absolutely can do something to reverse the AIDS crisis in African countries,’ Scarlett Johansson said about the RED tour of Rwanda.
