Registration and practice will begin at noon lunch will be served on the course during play, a cocktail cash bar will open at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dinner, raffle, auction and awards ceremony at 6 p.m. The cost is $135 per golfer, which includes greens fees and cart, lunch, prizes, dinner and appreciation gift bag. After chemotheraphy, a stem-cell transplant, and a bone-marrow transplant from his sister Pat in May of 2007, Mr. Montesano has been in remission. The event has been made possible by Mr. Montesano’s former employer and friends at Frito-Lay/Pepsico, led by the efforts of Tim Gaffney. “Pete is a great guy who has been through so much, but despite that, he wants to give something back to the community and we are thrilled to be able to help him get his message out,” said Mr. Gaffney, who has assembled an impressive schedule of events, prizes and speakers for the event. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams, as well as for closest to the pin and long drive contests for men and women.
Among the featured guest speakers will be Mr. Montesano, Mr. Gaffney, Magdalena Wronska of Frito-Lay Sales/Inclusion, Jim Johnson of Companions in Courage, with additional speakers to be announced.
