Sharons Hot To Foxtrot! 2009: Radio Dj

Sharons hot to foxtrot!

RADIO DJ Sharon Oakley is stepping out in style after getting fit during training for a cancer charity dance contest.
Buddie Sharon, 36, is among celebs training their twinkle toes to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care through a dazzling Come Dance With Me display. Sharon, who was born in Paisley, is well-known to Buddies as the voice of Smooth Radio’s breakfast show alongside John McCauley. And she has praised Paisley businesses for giving their support to the event, including Helen Buchanan at Exquisite dress shop, Silk Street, for donating her stunning red dress for the big night. Sharon said: “Helen donated the dress and it was adjusted to fit me perfectly by Napier’s just round the corner from Exquisite. “The ballgown is a lovely deep red. In fact, it’s exquisite! It is influenced by the 18th century and is buttoned up the back, with a lot of detail. It makes me feel quite special, and when I wear it I feel poised and stand up straight. Dress shop owner Helen has generously given away dresses worth around &pound3,000 to the female dancers and the lads’ partners.
She said: “Sharon’s dress is worth &pound520, and I also gave dresses to the three other competitors as well as the two male celebrities’ trainers. And I told the organisers to auction the dresses off at the end of the night to make more money for Marie Curie.
