According to the World Health Organization, “Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, accounting for the highest mortality rates among both men and women.” It can affect both smokers and non-smokers who can get the disease from exposure to secondhand smoke, occupational hazards (e.g. asbestos), and air pollution. Early detection and comprehensive treatment are key to help increase the quality of life of lung cancer patients and their families.
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the leading UK-based lung cancer charity that’s dedicated to funding essential research to ensuring proper diagnosis and treatment is given to people with this disease.
