DAD Ian Williams has become an Ironman for charity.
The 32-year-old, who works for Air Products Healthcare in Crewe, used to be a keen Sunday footballer but hung up his boots to take on fitness challenges for good causes. Now he is halfway through a mission to complete five sporting challenges in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. His latest accomplishment was completing the Ironman UK event in Bolton in just over 13 hours. Ian, who has a two-year-old daughter Ellie, said: “It was my first full Ironman event and I really enjoyed the day. “There was a fantastic atmosphere and I completed it much faster than I had hoped.” The Ironman event comprised a 2.4-mile swim, a 112m cycle and a marathon.
Earlier this year Ian, who is married to Lynsey, completed two triathlon events.
