Dozens of sportsmen came to the Vernon National Shooting Reserve Sunday to take part in what organizers hope will be an annual event.
It’s called the Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Shoot, which raised money for the charity which holds the same name. “They assist them with new limbs, they assist in their housing, you know maybe they need ramps for wheelchairs, stuff of that nature,” said Jason Acee, manager of the Vernon National Shooting Preserve. Every dollar raised will go to help out veterans who are wounded in combat a sacrifice not forgotten by those aiming for the targets on Sunday. While Sunday’s events were for fun, all eye-sights were clearly on benefiting the charity. “They help our servicemen who protect us, who protect our gun rights, our rights as everyday human beings. And I think it’s just a very worthy cause,” said Acee.
