Sun Shines On Bank Holiday Revellers 2009: Glorious Sunshine

Sun shines on bank holiday revellers

Glorious sunshine ensured events kicking off the bank holiday weekend were a roaring success.
Biggest event of the weekend was Britain’s largest tribute festival, Glastonbudget, with about 6,000 people rocking out to cover bands at a farm in Wymeswold, near Loughborough. In Wymeswold, as temperatures soared to up to 20 deg C, “mockstar” acts such as Oasish, The Fillers, Stereotonics, Kins of Leon and Antarctic Monkeys wowed music lovers with their uncanny resemblance to the real deal on Friday, Saturday and yesterday. First-time visitor Anthony Lavall, 23, from Thurnby, said: “I thought Us4U2 were absolutely amazing. They played all the classics and that’s what I’m into.” Adam Lillystone and his partner, Clare Simpson, from Sileby, were camping for the weekend. Adam, 28, said: “I’ve been coming here since 2006. “It’s great because it’s only £50 for the whole weekend and I only live down the road.
Clare, 36, said: “I just love the whole thing.”
