Visitors might be surprised by the futuristic vehicles they will see at the fourth-annual Car Show to raise funds to help our troops. Visit Simi Valley Town Center’s parking lot on Saturday, May 16 (Armed Forces Day), and help military personnel who have been severely wounded or lost in recent wars, and their families all the while enjoying a day of spectacular cars and outstanding music.Proceeds raised from the fourth-annual charity Car Show hosted by Valiant Men Ministries, Simi Valley Presbyterian Church and Simi Valley Town Center will go toward the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families.The event is set for 8 a.m. to 12 Noon May 16 in the center parking lot at Town Center, same location as the weekly Farmers’ Market. Pre-registration fee for entrants is $25. Day of event is $30. Vendors are $100. The public is welcome to view for free.To enter, make tax-deductible checks payable to Simi Prez and send them to Simi Valley Presbyterian Church, Attn.: Valiant Men Ministries, 4832 Cochran St., Simi Valley, CA 93063. Pre-Registration must be received by Wednesday, May 13th.Gates open at 7 a.m. Classes include: Hot Rods Classics Trucks Motorcycles Horseless Carriages and Customs. Trophies will be presented at the conclusion, including for Best Muscle Car, Best in Show, Best Corvette, Best Foreign, Best Mustang, People’s Choice, and Pastor’s Choice.Started in 2000 under the auspices of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, and established as an independent not-for-profit organization in 2003, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund has provided more than $65 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans.These efforts are funded entirely with donations from the public and hundreds of thousands of individuals have contributed. All contributions raised to the fund go toward these programs as all administrative expenses are underwritten by the Fund’s Trustees.
