There are so many events to choose from this weekend that you are sure to find something to suit all the family.
Fingers crossed for good weather….. Saturday Sample local fare at Windsor Farmers’ Market from 9am to 1pm on St Leonard’s Road between the Firestation Arts Centre and East Berks College.  Calling children everywhere – particularly if they happen to be Bob the Builder fans. They are needed at Legoland theme park in Winkfield Road, Windsor this weekend to be part of a massive construction project that Bob would have been proud of. The park is planning to build the biggest ever mosaic of Bob the Builder that will need 172,800 Lego bricks and children will be invited all weekend to help create it. Bob himself will be making an appearance on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. To make it even more exciting children who come dressed as Bob or his friend Wendy can get in free if they are accompanied by a full adult person. The potentially record breaking Lego event will take place at the Miniland Lawn from 10am to 6pm daily. The Duke of Edinburgh launches the Beating the Bounds walk through Berkshire which will last eight days. Sets off from the Long Walk, Windsor at 9.30am. Children at Legoland, Winkfield Road, Windsor, are invited to create a massive mosaic of Bob the Builder and JK Rowling over the Bank Holiday weekend. A French language story and music is being held at Slough Library in the High Street from 1pm-2pm. The interactive session is suitable for children aged three and above. Swigging ale and listening to live music will be the order of the day at a Burnham pub on the May Day bank holiday weekend. About 40 ales and ciders will be on tap for thirsty punters at the George Inn in the High Street, as well hog and pig roasts. The beer festival runs from May 2-4.  Sunday A local view of life in The Wind in the Willows can be enjoyed at Herries School in Cookham Dean on Sunday at 3pm. Kenneth Grahame At Home has been devised by Jean Hedger from material concerning the Grahame family and readings from the children’s classic Wind in the Willows. The school was the same house in which the family lived. Tickets: adults £4 and children £3 and available on the day or from Stationery Depot, Station Parade, Cookham. The Taplow Choir will perform at Holy Trinity Church in Church Gate, Cookham at 3pm. They will sing together with local young musicians in a varied programme of choral and instrumental music under the direction of Gillian Dibden. The choral programme will be drawn from a repertoire spanning many centuries and will be combined with solo pieces from young instrumentalists. A drumming workshop is open to all at Holy Trinity School in Cookham from 11am. It will be led by Richard Latham of Rich Rhythms. The pieces of ensemble drumming will be performed at the May Day on the Moor. Dragon boating, a leap of faith from a high ropes course and funfair rides will be just some of the attractions on offer at Longridge Boating Centre’s open day from 11am-5pm.
