Tiger Woods to play charity event in Nova Scotia source

He hasn’t played the Canadian Open for seven years running, but Tiger Woods will be in Canada next month &mdash on the prowl for
charity. A source with knowledge of the event says the world’s No.1 golfer will be the main attraction at a fundraiser for his Tiger Woods Foundation to be held at Fox Harb’r, the exclusive golf resort in Cumberland County, N.S., owned by Tim Hortons co-founder Ron Joyce. The possibility of the visit was first raised in a newspaper report about 10 days ago. Though most of the money raised will be donated to Woods’s foundation, it’s believed a portion will go to one of Joyce’s philanthropic efforts. Woods won the Canadian Open in 2000 but hasn’t played in the country’s national championship since 2001 because it’s typically been scheduled the week after the British Open. Woods last competed in Canada at the Presidents Cup event in Montreal in September 2007. Most Blogged about CBC.ca Articles
