Some of Scotland’s leading business figures raised more than £135,000 at The Prince’s Trust Clay Pigeon Shoot.
The event, which has been running for nine years, has now raised £1.4million for the charity. This year, more than 320 people descended on Auchterhouse Country Sports, near Dundee, to take part in shooting competitions, auctions, a demonstration from the Nick Nairn cook school plus fashion and hair shows. A Mini Cooper Convertible, donated by Knight Property Group, was raffled off while a silent auction of 91 items included the opportunity to spend the day as a DJ on Rock Radio. The main auction included a dinner-for-10 at Prestonfield with crime writer Ian Rankin as well as a lithograph of a watercolour painted by HRH the Prince ofWales. Gerard Eadie, chairman of windows, doors and conservatories company CR Smith, set up and hosts the event. He said: “It was a fantastic day all round and raised a considerable sum for a charity that does very positive work for our young people. The Prince’s Trust Scotland helps thousands of people every year who have had a difficult start to their young lives. The Trust gives those young people the chance to turn their lives around and fulfil their true potential.” Superjam founder, Fraser Doherty has picked up the 2009 Nectar Small Business national Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
