Trial Life As A Volunteer In Charity Shop 2009: Charity Shops

Trial life as a volunteer in charity shop

A CHARITY which has shops in Clevedon and Nailsea has come up with an unusual way of attracting volunteers.
To coincide with National Volunteers’ Week from June 1-7, Break is offering taster sessions for people to find out what its like to be a volunteer and work in a shop. The Nailsea store is in the High Street, is currently having a refit and has recently been appointed a new manager. In Clevedon, Break is in The Triangle and managed by Karen Muscroft. Anyone who would like to try a taster session can pop into either of the shops to make an appointment or call Clevedon on 01275 876670 or Nailsea on 810312. Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is holding a thank you event in Clevedon for volunteers. Community and voluntary groups based in North Somerset are invited to nominate a volunteer to receive a certificate for their efforts, enjoy refreshments and be in with a chance to win a special prize.
The event takes place in the pagoda on Clevedon Pier on Wednesday, June 3.
