Twenty models, 100 feet of red carpet and one Joan Rivers impersonator take over Queen Street East Wednesday night.
Fitness, Fashion and Fishnets helps Next Level Fitness owner Anthony Damien realize two dreams — holding an event to benefit Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children and a desire to “do something fun” for the community. “I see all these different festivals going on,” said Damien. “People really enjoy them. People have always said they like stuff like that. I decided to do something a little bit different.” Local actor Tim Murphy appears as Rivers, the event’s host. Models will sport casual attire from SpaWorld, Raw and Damien’s own fitness apparel, NX. LA. Tania Castellani (Footloose)is choreographing a jazz-style opening number featuring four senior dancers from Studio Dance Arts. Toronto singer Fayna will also perform. The models were drawn from Damien’s business and from an online call for participation.
The “theatrical event” also marks the grand opening of Damien’s business.
