Millions of refugees must flee their homes yearly for a better and safer life for their loved ones. They’re left with no choice but to leave everything behind, bringing only their hope for a brighter tomorrow within their hearts.
This year, the British Red Cross will raise funds for refugee services in the UK by having the Miles for Refugees in June. Funds will also assist refugees from Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and those who need it worldwide. Cover the distance you’ve signed up for by walking, running, swimming, or bicycling. It’s a fitness challenge that goes a long way.
Sign up and choose from one of six distances, each one representing the journeys people are forced to take to reach safety.
Shorter routes like 22 miles across the English Channel or 108 miles from Ukraine to Poland are a great individual fitness challenge – or there’s longer routes available for the more ambitious!
All through June, run, walk, swim, cycle, or cover your chosen distance however and wherever you like. Log your miles on your fundraising page, either manually or automatically by linking your Strava app.
Then get sharing your page to raise your £150 fundraising target to support the British Red Cross’ refugee work.
The money you raise will help us support people around the world to find safety, rebuild their lives, and reunite with their loved ones.
This year Miles for refugees funds will go towards British Red Cross refugee services in the UK, as well as providing vital aid to those fleeing violence in Ukraine, to neighbouring countries such as Poland or Romania. Funds will also go to support people fleeing their homes around the world, no matter where they are or why they’ve been displaced.
Refugees need you. Sign up to change their lives forever.
