For one night only on Saturday 21 February at 8 pm at the National Theatre in St Kilda.

Written by Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues is a moving, witty and hilarious collection of stories that gives voice to women’s lives and celebrates the female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery.

With a cast including Anne Phelan (Prisoner), George McEncroe (Mix 101FM’s ‘Two Women and a Metro’) Green Room Cabaret winner Geraldine Quinn, ‘D Cuppetry’s’ Louise Steel and a strong cast of supporting actresses, this event will be a night out to remember!

V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. It is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.

The V-Day 2009 Spotlight Campaign, the global initiative, focuses on women from The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Women and young girls from the DRC are a target for rape and have been systemically brutalised and abused.

The Women’s Domestic Violence Crisis Centre is a Victorian State-wide service offering 24-hour/7 days a week telephone service providing support, information and accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic violence. It aims to reduce and prevent family violence by providing education to improve service and policy responses, and by assisting people who have experienced abuse.

All monies raised from the evening will benefit The Women’s Domestic Violence Crisis Centre and V-Day Spotlight campaign.
