Get involved A SELL-OUT charity gig has raised &pound2,000 for the children’s charity Barnardo’s Cymru.
Organisers had originally arranged to hold it at The Point, in Cardiff Bay, but the entire event was thrown into jeopardy when the popular venue was suddenly forced to close because of financial difficulties. A frantic scramble to rearrange the gig paid off when the Globe stepped in to host the evening. Barnardo’s events organiser Rachel Madge said: “Thanks also to the wonderful artists who wowed the audience and gave their time so generously to help Barnardo’s Cymru. We hope this will be the first of many Barnardo’s Cymru presents gigs.” Singer Martyn Joseph said he was delighted to be part of a live music event in aid of Barnardo’s.
He added: “They do such a great job for children across the nation and are an important part of the fabric of justice and opportunity, so needed to give future generations a fighting chance.”
