Walkers signing up for cancer support Shipley Stride

3:19pm Saturday 25th April 2009 Around 100 walkers have already signed up for the Shipley Stride fundraising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Committee member Diane Ogden, 36, of Cresswell Mount, Horton Bank Top, has done the Stride on crutches in the past two years. She developed mobility problems five years ago after a knee operation brought to light a joint condition which she had unknowingly been born with. Benign joint hypermobilty syndrome can mean pain, fatigue and reduced co-ordination. She also has hip dysplasia which has caused osteo-arthritis. Miss Ogden was encouraged by her partner Ken Allen, a volunteer walk leader for Bradford Council, to take part in the Stride on Sunday, May 10.
