Tuesday 5th May 2009 5th May 2009 Breast cancer awareness charity In the Pink (ITP) is gearing up for a brand new season of
fundraising walks along the waterways of Wales – and everyone is invited to join the party. The charity’s six-strong team of trustees, development staff and dedicated volunteers now operates out of the former office at Govilon, with this ready access to local canal staff making the walks programmes easier to arrange. This year’s programme of community focused events will mark the start of an ambitious expansion plan over the next few years, according to ITP’s Development Officer, Sally Ann Evans. “Our goal is to organise waterway walks around the whole of the UK with each event incorporating its own style of festival. In The Pink aims to promote activities that incorporate the arts, outdoor and social events,†said Sally Ann. “Participating in quality lifestyle events and being part of something positive can make a significant difference to individuals battling any illness,†she added.
