Mark Wednesday 7th November in your diary for the nationwide Wattie’s Cans Film Festival! For 14 years Wattie’s and
movie theatres around New Zealand have supported the Salvation Army Christmas Food Bank appeal with this terrific charity event.
The Festival is a chance for the public to see a movie at their local cinema for the cost of a can of food. All donated cans are then distributed to Food Banks around the country and Wattie’s matches the number of publicly donated cans.
This year’s festival includes a popular variety of blockbuster films including Shrek the Third, The Pursuit of Happiness, Transformers, Fantastic Four 2, Bridge to Terabithia, The Simpsons plus many more.
31 cinemas around the country are participating from Kaikohe to Invercargill
Donated cans can be exchanged for a ticket to one of the festival films at any of the participating cinemas from Monday 29th October.
Wattie’s, SKYCITY Cinemas, Hoyts, Reading Cinemas and The Salvation Army are committed to doing their best to make the Christmas and holiday season special for families in need. And of course, we want to provide a fun night out for the family on Wednesday November 7th!
