Western Australian In Horse Race For Children’s Charity

Western Australia Man Risks Life For Childrens Charity In Horse Race

Dave Murray will represent Western Australia when he rides in the worlds toughest horse race in August to raise money for Mongolian children.
Training at the Perth Polo Club and with local WA farmers, adventurer Murray admits I am not a good rider so it’s a mammoth challenge, but explains “I have a real dream to help the homeless children of Mongolia. To be without a home in the -30Cdeg winter temperatures there is unimaginable. He hopes to raise AU$100 000 for Christina Nobles Childrens Foundation that provide care and shelter to the countrys families in need.
The Mongol Derby horse race is the worlds longest and covers over 1000km across Mongolia. 25 riders from 9 countries will each ride 25 different semi-wild horses during the gruelling journey, and each rider has to find their own route across the Mongolian plains.
Dave Murray said world travels have opened my eyes and I felt I had to start giving something back, and for this West Australia man, taking the reins in a horse race for a childrens charity is where hell begin.
