Have you ever tried authentic, traditional hand-crafted ales? How about ciders made from locally sourced fruits that undergo a natural production method? If you haven’t and you live around Whitby, Yorkshire, mark your calendars on July 25 – 28 for the Whitby Beer Festival 2024. Get ready to taste delicious beers (no mass-produced carbonated beers here!) and mouthwatering ciders from award-winning local brewers. Prepare your tastebuds for authentic ale to be served from traditional draught casks, adding to the richness of the drink. Homemade food and bar snacks will also be available around the venue to fill you up even more. Best part of this festival is that proceeds will go to the Whitby Lions, an organization who actively helps local Whitby charities and is a member of the Lions International.
Whitby District Lion’s Club is very excited to announce that The Whitby Beer Festival is a back for 2024! The charity beer festival is held in aid of Whitby & District Lion’s Club. This year the festival is celebrating its 13th year and the club intends to celebrate the growing reputation of the festival of serving over 30 of the very best artisan ales, boutique beers and scrumptious ciders from award-winning local and regional independent brewers and micro-breweries. Please see the list of beers and ciders we served at our 2023 festival, at the bottom of this page.
The festival as always is being held at the Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre, Haggersgate in Whitby which is ideally located in the centre of the town. The festival opens its doors from Thursday 25th July until Sunday 28th July. The opening times are from 12 Noon until 10 PM Thursday to Saturday and 12 Noon until 4 PM on Sunday. Entrance tickets cost just £5 which includes a commemorative festival tankard, which is yours to keep as a souvenir and one beer token (for one ½ pint measures). Beer tickets can then be purchased throughout the festival.
Our festival warmly welcomes anyone who wants to sample our great produce from tourists, day-trippers, evening goers and real ale enthusiasts. Families are very welcome as soft drinks are available for children and all we ask is for children to be supervised by an adult. Every year the festival is friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere, especially when the sun is out, as we have outside seating, which is a great way to bring along some friends, family or just by yourself and enjoy our real ale and ciders.
The Whitby Mission Café which is located just next to the hall where the festival is been held, the café serves homemade food all day which will brilliantly complement your real ale or cider. Bar snacks are also available throughout the festival at the bar.
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali said, “Service to others is the rend you pay for your room here on Earth.” This July, make your way to the Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre for the Whitby Beer Festival 2024 and make an impact to the whole Whitby community. Tickets can be purchased at the location.
