Will.i.am had just made a 500,000 donation to the Prince’s Trust and said he wanted to give back to the people of the UK. The donation was from his hard work as a Judge from the TV series, ‘The Voice’. The generous Black Eyed Peas star tweeted “I gave the majority of the money I made on the voice to the @PrincesTrust to build a tech program to get the kids from east LDN up to speed.”
The 37-year-old said: ‘I called my manager and said, ‘What can I do with the money that I’m getting for ‘The Voice’? I don’t need it’. It’s the least I could do – the show changed my life.’
Will.i.am said that by working with Charles’ charity he was joining a mission to assist transform the lives of disadvantaged young people. Will.i.am met youngsters on a Prince’s Trust personal development course in East London last month and later visited Prince Charles at Clarence House to discuss how his i.am.angel Foundation could support the charity’s work.
