Fresh from Nelson Mandela’s birthday celebrations, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have funded a school in LA, the New Village Academy, which seems to have caused a stir.
The school’s curriculum is based on that of scientology and the school will also employ a number of teachers who are members of the controversial religious organization.
‘We are a secular school, and just like all nonreligious independent schools, faculty and staff do not promote their own religions at school or pass on the beliefs of their particular faith to children,’ claims New Village Academy director Jacqueline Olivier.
She also stated that staff members will also be Muslim, Christian and/or Jewish.
The school funding project has now left Hancock actor Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith open to public criticism and accusations that they themselves are Scientologists.
