Winehouse’s Back-up Singer To Release A Song

Winehouse’s good friend is releasing a song in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation

Amy Winehouse’s back-up singer and good friend Zalon is releasing a song inaid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Zalon wrote the song the day after hearing thatWinehouse had died. He told The Sun: “It poured out of me. It was my way ofdealing with it.”

Zalon and Amy first met when she ran on stage where he was singing in a London club to tell him how incredible his voice was. They sang together and Amy signed him to her record label- Lioness.Zalon mentioned that Amy never treated him as a backing vocalist and Amy made sure he was featured in her album. Amy gave him 15 minutes during her own show to do his own stuff.

Zalon paid tribute to Amys family for creating the Amy WinehouseFoundation. All proceeds will go to the foundation, a charity set up Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse, to help young people suffering from addiction, ill health and disability and financial disadvantage.
