Kate Winslet has just released a new photo book focused on raisingawareness of autism and it features some of the most popular names in Hollywood like George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Justin Timberlake,Angelina Jolie, Anna Wintour, Sting and Leonardo DiCaprio are just some ofthe 100 portraits that can be found in “The Golden Hat: Talking Back to Autism.”
Eachcelebrity is shown gere wearing a “golden hat” (or fedora) plucked from Kate Winslet’scloset and answering this question; “If you could only say one thing, whatwould that be?” Sales will benefit the Golden Hat Foundation, a non-profit the Oscar-winnerstarted in 2010 after narrating a film about a 14-year-old boy with a non-verbal autism.
“I had this feeling of, ‘I need to do something else,'” she said to USA TODAY.
“It wasn’t just a case of ‘what can I do to help the cause?’ It was somethingmuch more profound than that.” According to the website, this book features shots that were taken in a wide-range oflocales which includes bathrooms, inside dressing rooms and on movie sets.
“The truth is, I don’t really know these people,” Kate says of her famousparticipants. “They’re not my friends. I am just like everyone else I don’t really know that many famous people, that’s not my life. I’m a mum, I go towork, and then I’m a mum. It really was a case of bribing people for phonenumbers.”
