Ocean’s 13 Charity

Ocean’s 13 cast cruise for charity

Before the recent Cannes red carpet release of Ocean’s 13, the cast took a cruise on a yacht by a Riviera resort, raising some cool cash for a Darfur charity.
The event was part of Ocean trilogy stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and producer Jerry Weintraub’s committment to use the film’s publicity to promote the Not On Our Watch Web site, partnering with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), to raise funds for peoples affected by the Darfur conflict.
The mission of Not On Our Watch together with the IRC is to focus global attention on the mass atrocities happening in Sudan, and to provide the resources needed to help solve the problem.
The IRC Ocean’s 13 organisation hopes to draw on the voices of citizen artists, activists, and cultural leaders to enable this to happen.
The IRC was formed when the International Relief Association, founded in 1933 by Albert Einstein, and the Emergency Rescue Committee joined forces in 1942. And for over 70 years since, the IRC has been a leader in the field of humanitarian relief.
The IRC and the cast of smug-thieving-mugs in Oceans 13 managed to pocket a reported $11 million for the Not On Our Watch charity cruise. Proving that their true selves must definitely differ from their on screen characters.
