One minute might not be a lot for some of us but for those involved in serious accidents or who are critically ill, one minute may spell the difference between life or death. Enter London’s Air Ambulance, a charity whose mission is “To save more lives in London through rapid response and cutting-edge care” rain or shine, day or night. Comprised of compassionate, selfless, and highly capable people, they cater to the 10 million folks who live, work, and travel along one of the busiest roads in UK, the M25 or the London Orbital Motorway. Last year alone, their advanced trauma doctors and paramedics were able to arrive quickly on scene via helicopter or rapid response car, to treat 1,977 critically injured patients.
To raise funds to be able to continue the good work that they do, London’s Air Ambulance is holding Helipad Abseil 2023 on September 14 – 17 at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.
We need a team of fearless fundraisers to launch themselves from the highest rooftop helipad in Europe. Join the London’s Air Ambulance Charity abseil team and descend The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel from 17 floors up. The free hang aspect (no body contact with the wall!) only adds to the sense of exhilaration as you experience the East London skyline from a whole new angle.
Places are allocated on a first come and we ask you to pay a £40 registration fee and raise £300 by 4 weeks after the event.
Our fundraising team will be there to support you every step of the way. All our participants receive the following as part of their commitment to fundraise for London’s Air Ambulance Charity:
- Fundraising pack full of hints and tips to help smash your target
- A dedicated support team, providing tailored advice and guidance
- Photographs of the day captured and circulated after the event.
No previous experience required to take part. All participants will be provided with appropriate safety equipment and a full safety briefing, which will take place before you make the descent. All participants must be at least 18 years of age to take part in the abseil.
