The Girls Club of Los Angeles invites you to participate in the 8th Annual Choosing a Healthy Mind and Body Teen Rally.

The purpose of the Teen Rally is to:
Increase high school graduation rates and help students make better decisions.
Raise public awareness about teen pregnancy.
Reduce teen pregnancy and decrease the contraction of Sexually Transmitted Diseases/Infections amongst teens.
Generate a unifying forum for local community-based organizations, foundations, corporate sponsors and the media to come together and use the event as a starting point for generating local community action to address teen pregnancy and STD/I amongst teens.
Provide an educational and entertaining venue for teens to learn about local community-based programs that address the issue of teen pregnancy, risk-taking behaviors and other teen specific issues.
George Washington Preparatory High School is located in South Los Angeles with approximately 1,500 students. Of these students approximately 55.8 % identified themselves as African American, while another 43.7 % are of Hispanic descent. In addition, 47 % of the student population is categorized as socio-economically disadvantaged. The Teen Rally will provide exhibitors with outreach opportunities for thousands of teens. The event may also generate valuable media coverage.
