Akon, teaming up with Keri Hilson and the Soweto Gospel Choir, is just one of the many artists to record a 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem, ‘Oh Africa’, featuring Lionel Messi and Didier Drogba.
Proceeds from sales of ‘Oh Africa’ will benefit a number of charities including Akons Konfidence Foundation.
‘Recording the single and making the video was a lot of fun. And the fact that it was attached to an initiative that was about re-building Africa, made it so much more than just a record,’ Akon said about ‘Oh Africa’.
