Banker who glassed fund manager faces jail

ball in the West End. When Mr Delvaux, 28, stepped in Sharpe then smashed a beer bottle over his head, Southwark Crown Court in London heard. The blow narrowly missed Mr Delvaux’s eye and an artery and left him needing at least six stitches. The event was being held at the Paper club in the Cafe Royal, Piccadilly on July 11 last year. Sharpe, of Treport Street, Wandsworth, London, admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Sentencing was adjourned until March 16.
Judge Geoffrey Rivlin QC said: “He must know that under normal circumstances a custodial sentence is appropriate for an offence such as this.”
