Bids On For Hit With Golf Champ 2009: 17 February

Bids on for hit with golf champ

17 February 2009 Sunrise Beach golfing star Katherine Hull has generously agreed to help the Noosa- Sunshine Coast branch of the RSPCA in their
fundraising endeavour to purchase a Road Home vehicle. Katherine will donate herself – that is, an 18-hole game of golf with her on the Noosa Springs golf course. She will play golf with the highest bidder at an auction to be held on the fundraising golf day at Noosa Springs on March 1. “It’s very generous of Katherine,’’ Maggie Wilde, event organiser for the local RSPCA branch said. “Noosa Springs will donate the golf fees and the golf cart. This (chance to play with Katherine) is not just for the folks who are playing golf on the March 1 day, but for those who are attending the dinner afterwards.’’ Places for the Noosa Springs charity golf day are filling fast, but places for the dinner are filling even faster with golfers’ friends and families booking their seats. “People can come to the dinner alone and bid on a round of golf with Katherine,’’ Maggie Wilde said. “The dinner is just $50 and includes wine and beer…it’s an early start at 4pm, sort of half way between lunch and dinner.’’ The Noosa-Sunshine Coast branch of the RSPCA branch hopes to raise $30,000 to purchase a Road Home vehicle to assist in helping re-homing shelter animals.
“I know the (fund raising) timing is awful with so many people in need,’’ Maggie said. “But sometimes our pets get forgotten.’’
