Big Bay Bike Hits The Road Tomorrow 2009: Cyclists Ride

Big Bay Bike hits the road tomorrow

Cyclists ride for a reason in Sunday’s Port Nelson Big Bay Bike, with this year’s chosen charity being the Nelson-Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust.
The 70km circuit starts from the Richmond A&P Showgrounds at 9am with riders neutralised through to Three Brothers Corner. Once all are over the bridge on to the Appleby Straight, the starter’s horn will sound. From there, it’s on to the Inland Road, with Monarch of the Moutere at stake for both the men and women’s fields, and they cross the Moutere Saddle. Those in relay teams will change over at Wildman Rd, with all riders returning via the Coastal Highway. In the spot prize pool are numerous event design mementos, including five Big Bay Bike cycle jerseys. Registration at the Richmond Showgrounds is from 8am on Sunday, with late entries being accepted. The minimum age for entry is 14 years. Full details are available on www.nelsonevents.co.nz.
