FOR FLORIDA TODAY • May 13, 2009 The Exchange Club of South Brevard will host its 13th annual reverse raffle charity fundraiser, the Caribbean
Cash Bash, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront in Indialantic. The event gives participants an opportunity to win one of several cash prizes, including a grand prize of $10,000. All proceeds from the event will support programs that benefit children in Brevard County, such as the Exchange Club’s Yellow Umbrella Child Abuse Prevention Center and other charitable organizations. “Our Caribbean Cash Bash fundraiser has become one of those events that people look forward to because it’s fun,” said Court Lewis, Exchange Club vice president. “Not only is there plenty of good food, lots of prizes and musical entertainment, but there’s also the suspense of knowing that someone will walk away with a check for $10,000 just in time for summer vacation. At the same time, you know your donation is going to help children in need here in Brevard.” For a suggested donation of $100, participants will be given a ticket and one entry in the raffle. Each ticket admits two people to the event, featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by the Hilton, beverages including beer and wine. WA1A radio personality Timmy Vee will serve as emcee at the event.
Lewis said there also will be a silent auction of donated items.
