Charltontees off to help charity

A WORLD CUP winner will be among a host of former footballers helping to raise cash for charity.
Jack Charlton will be among those taking part in a special celebrity golf tournament this week. The Middlesbrough Former Players’ Association has organised the event which will take place at the Wynyard Golf Club on Wednesday to raise money for former players in difficulty. The event also aims to boost the coffers of a number of local charities. Among those benefitting will be Middlesbrough Disabled Supporters Club, the Midlands-based children’s hospice Zoe’s Place, Butterwick Hospice and Teesside Hospice. Others taking part include former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister and his fellow team mate Lee Sharpe, Ipswich and Sunderland striker Eric Gates, legendary Toon skipper Bob Moncur and Boro goalie Kelham O’Hanlon. The event, hoping to raise thousands, will take place at 11.45am.
