Drury Students To Cycle For Charity Community Invited To Join In 2009: Inside Ride

Drury students to cycle for charity Community invited to join in

The Inside Ride indoor cycling challenge will take place at 9:30 a.
m. at the Ontario Street school. In teams of four, about 200 participants will take turns pedaling over the course of two hours. Funds raised will go to the Coast To Coast Against Cancer Foundation, which provides financial assistance to programs and organizations that improve the quality of life for Canadian children — and their families — living with cancer. Teams collect pledges in advance. The event is being dedicated to a recent graduate who passed away of cancer and Grade 11 student Ben Vandoodewaard, who is battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Ben recently recorded a poignant video where he shared about his struggles and asked the community to support the Inside Ride. “It makes me feel good to know people are supporting me,†he says at the conclusion of the video.
Teacher Mike Druiven said one of the reasons the school chose this charity to support was the fact 100 per cent of the funds it receives goes to help kids and their families.
