Text DN News, leave a space, tell us your news, and send … 5:02pm Monday 27th April 2009 A CHARITY auction organised by medical workers from Russells Hall Hospital to help buy a new ventilator for the Critical Care unit is proving such a draw that extra tickets are going on sale to cope with demand. The auction, which is being held at the Copthorne Hotel, in Level Street, Brierley Hill, this Thursday (April 30) was originally meant to be for 150 people but there has been so much interest in the event that an extra 100 tickets are being made available. The auction will kick-off at 7.30pm and items up for grabs include football shirts signed by soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and local players from teams including West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Wolves and Birmingham City. Other lots due to go under the hammer include a T-shirt and photo signed by Black Country funnyman Frank Skinner, a weekend stay for two at the Village Hotel in Dudley and family passes for the Black Country Museum, Legoland and West Midlands Safari Park.
The night will feature live music from the Barrel House Blues Band and the Theatre Blues Band, both of which include staff from the hospital. There will also be a bar and a disco.
