Have you ever heard of the idiom “mind over matter”? This idea was first expressed by Roman poet, Virgil, in Aeneid wherein he wrote, “Mens agitat molem,” in English, “Mind moves matter.” This phrase pertains to a situation wherein one can overcome a challenge, through the power of the mind. On October 12, you’ll get the chance to test your mental strength through Rowcroft Hospice’s Fire and LEGO® Walks. Happening at Rowcroft Hospice, South Devon, England, you’ll get to show your grit by walking barefoot over scorching embers. There will also be a LEGO® walk (which everyone knows isn’t a walk in the park) should you, or your child/godchild/nephew/niece, wish to try it. After you’re done testing your physical and mental limits, you’ll get to enjoy some games, BBQ, and refreshments. Proceeds from this event will go to Rowcroft Hospice who “supports adults living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon.”
Get fired up for our Fire and LEGO® Walks – we dare you!
Are you ready to walk on fire for your local hospice? Join us on Saturday 12 October in the grounds of Rowcroft Hospice where we dare anyone over the age of 12 to take on the epic feat of walking barefoot over red hot embers in the thrilling Fire Walk! Younger children can show their bravery too by conquering the colourful LEGO® Walk. These exciting challenges, run by Firewalk Events, empower you to discover and channel your inner strength and conquer your fears.
The aim of this unforgettable day is to bring families and friends together in support of the hospice: raising essential funds through sponsorship to care for patients and their loved ones across South Devon. The day will also include a performance of ‘fire eating’ by Higher Beings Circus, games for all the family, a bouncy castle, as well as a BBQ and refreshments.
