Groups Step Out To Raise Charity Cash 2009: Pupils Freshford

Groups step out to raise charity cash

Pupils from Freshford CofE Primary School are putting their best foot forward to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Children will be able to decide where they start, and how far they walk, providing they reach the finishing line on King Edward’s sports field, Bathampton, between noon and 5pm. CHSW community fundraiser for Bath, Jane Powell, said: “It is fantastic that children from Freshford Primary School are taking part in the It’s Childsplay event and I wish them warm weather on the day.” The hospice at Wraxall near Bristol provides support for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. To find out more about the walk, and how to take part visit www.chsw.org.uk, or phone Jane on 01275 866600. Meanwhile, it isn’t just humans walking to raise money for charity, as a group of dogs and their owners took part in the Bath Cats and Dogs Home annual Wag Walk. Participants walked either three or six miles along a National Trust trail, which combined wooded areas, flat grounds and hills.
Starting at the home’s Claverton Down site, the route led people across university fields, taking in the city views from Widcombe, before finishing at Rainbow Woods.
