Get involved THE mother of murdered teenager Anthony Walker has been honoured for her work in inspiring families across the North West.
Gee Walker collected the award in recognition of her work as figurehead of the Anthony Walker Foundation, the charity founded in her son’s memory. She was given the Community Award as part of the Inspiring Women event in Manchester on Friday. Mrs Walker said: “My wonderful son was an inspiration to everybody around him &ndash it is what he strived for. “That is why I believe in forgiveness. It is the best and only way I can think of to honour his memory.” Anthony was 18 when he was killed in a racist attack in Huyton in July 2005.
The Foundation works to promote racial harmony and diversity through sport, music and education.
